Let's practice the first part of our plan, the topic sentence and organization.

Last time we said there are two types. The first type is preference, what you prefer or like and the second type is paired choice. Here you are given two choices and you must choose the one that is better. The good news is that we can organize them in the same way.

Let's look at sample for type 1 and then practice it.

Sample: Describe a person that you admire. Explain why you admire this person.

Topic sentence: One person I admire is my grandfather.

First reason: First of all, he worked at two jobs to support his family.

Second reason: I also admire him because he tells many interesting stories about our family history. SUPPORT

Note: We aren't doing support yet. We are just practicing our first goal in our plan, the organization.

Now, let's look at paired choice and a sample.

Some students prefer for students to give oral presentations and other students prefer to write essays. Which one do you prefer?

First reason: First of all, one of the most important skills to be successful is the ability to communicate.
