You may feel this way now but we'll put a plan together and really look at each step. Let's get a general overview first of our plan for the third type of integrated speaking. The good news for this one is that there is only speaking and there is no reading. Many students find this type easier.
Let's discuss our plan: 1.Understand the order and a sample template
2.Learn how to take notes to the listening.
3.Practice recording with a preparation time of 40 seconds and a regular recording time of 60 seconds.
4.Then practice with a regular preparation time of 20 seconds and a regular recording time of 60 seconds.
Now on to the order of type 5. Here it is:
TWO STUDENTS DISCUSS a problem that one of them has and discuss two possible solutions. (60 to 90 seconds)
PREPARATION TIME: 20 seconds
RECORDING TIME: 60 seconds, Summarize the problem and explain which of the two solutions you prefer.
You have two choices for responses. The first choice is a shorter response but I think many students could do the longer response, which is more impressive. I'll give both.
First to the short response:
Two students are discussing a problem that Susan has. Her main problem is that she is not getting enough sleep. The man gives two solutions. One is to drink some coke from a vending machine to get some caffeine but she doesn't want to spend the money. So he suggests that buy it a lot from a grocery store and bring it each day to class. She says coke sometimes makes her nervous. The second solution he gives is to cut down on her hours at work Lucy said that she needs the money to pay her bills. He ends by saying she could ask her parents and cut down just 5 hours or so.
I think that it is better for her to cut down on her hours at work because she needs to get more rest. If she can get some rest, she won’t feel so tired and will be refreshed. I know I feel better when I do that. (Here you will choose the solution you prefer and give your reasons).
Now to the long response:
In this part, I am just not writing as much about the problem.
Two students are discussing a problem that Susan has. Her main problem is that she is not getting enough sleep. She has really hard classes and also has a part-time job. She spends 25 hours at work so she is exhausted. She even fell asleep in class.
I think that it is better for her to cut down 5 hours or so at work because she needs to get more rest. If she can get some rest, she won’t feel so tired and will be refreshed. I know I feel better when I do that.
So we looked at the first part of our plan, the order and sample template. We'll then go to type 6, the last speaking question for the integrated and the last speaking question on the test. Then we will look at the rest of our plan for each one.
(Here you will choose the solution you prefer and give your reasons).
